Storm Exteriors’ project consultants will ask some pre-qualifying questions to get a basis of what problem you are addressing. We try to be thorough so as to not invade your whole world, but to gather enough information to give you the best solutions.

    Area Window Replacement Types Offered

    Picture Windows

These windows are stationary and do not open. This makes them more energy efficient and allows for larger sizes than a window that vents. Often used in combinations to maximize the view, these are available in just about any size and shape―allowing your creativity to flow in accenting your home’s unique space.

    Casement Windows

Casement windows are hinged at the sides and swing outward. They provide a clear view to the outdoors, plus open and close easily with the turn of a handle. Casement windows are a great option for spots that are difficult to reach, like over the kitchen sink. Since they offer convenient operation, you pay more of a premium price for this type of window than say the double-hung window.

    Single-Hung Windows

Single-hung windows allow ventilation through a single operable lower sash that slides up and down. Made typically as an economic option, single-hung windows provide the simplicity of a picture window, but offer the ability to vent through the lower sash.

    Double-Hung Windows

Double-hung windows have two operating sashes that move up and down, allowing for ventilation on the top, bottom or both. The sashes tilt in for easy cleaning from the inside of your home. These windows scream functionality; both sashes can be opened and closed independently of each other- offering a variety of ventilation options. Available in many sizes and colors, double-hung windows are a perfect choice for any home.

    Sliding Windows

Horizontal Slider windows open with the sash sliding left or right. Some people find sliding windows easier and faster to open than crank-style windows. Since they open and close without protruding, horizontal sliders are an excellent choice for rooms facing walkways, porches or patios. Horizontal sliders are a favorite for contemporary style homes and are also popular for satisfying bedroom egress requirements. In a single slider, one sash slides to open. In a double slider, both sashes open. Double sliders are great for providing air circulation, particularly if there is only one window in the room.

    Awning Windows

Awning windows are hinged at the top and open outward, allowing for ventilation even during a light rain. Often used in combination with other window styles or placed higher on walls for privacy, awning windows are easy to open and close.

    FAQs

How should I prepare for the consultation?

We don’t require anything. However, it is always helpful if you have some pictures of what you want your new windows to look like. Also arm yourself with any questions you may have for our team while we are there, some things are best described in person instead of over the phone or through email.

Will I need to visit a showroom?

We always try to bring window samples and color stain samples, so that you can see what we offer as well as get a closer look at how it will look in your home. We do this for your convenience so you don’t have to travel to our showroom unless you want to.

How much do windows usually cost?

There are so many factors that affect the price of a window installed that its too difficult to quantify a price without first seeing the project in person. Our team will be able to give you an accurate estimate upon inspection.

How can I pay for my windows?

You can pay with cash, check, or take advantage of financing options we have made available.

How long does the replacement process take?

The installation process generally takes a few days once we start. However, once the contract is signed, a down payment made, and our foreman comes out to do a final measure of your window openings the windows are ordered. It usually takes about a month to receive the windows from the factory and then at which point we will schedule an install date that works for you based on our current schedule and obviously this is all weather dependent.
